Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eyeshadow Quad in Precocious, outside packaging

More new drugstore reviews! So exciting! This is one of Revlon’s new offerings for spring. These quads are intended to be the next generation of the colorstay quads that have already been around for a while. The biggest difference I notice between the old quads and the new one quads is the color range! These new quads have more bright and other non-neutral colors to choose from. However, for my first purchase, I tried to stay a little neutral with Precocious…. Read on for more!

Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette Photos and Review

Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette

Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette Outside Packaging

Oh, Naked palette, what a whirlwind you caused! This was one of tre top selling makeup items of 2011 period. The company couldn’t crank them out fast enough to meet demands. After replacing the eyeliner included in the palette with a brush, they were able to crank them out and meet customer demands. I got mine long before the craziness began. I saw this baby in my Ulta and said, “THAT is an awesome palette” and scooped it up. Weeks later, I was hearing about the demand for this palette and I was so happy I got mine when I did. Fast forward to now, they’ve just released the Naked 2 Palette and with the demand for Naked 1, everyone is trying to grab Naked 2 at breakneck speed. I will be getting Naked 2 for myself but I don’t know when…. 🙂 Read on for more pics and review….

Bare Minerals High Shine Eyecolor Swatches and Review

Bare Minerals High Shine Eyecolor Collection

Bare Minerals High Shine Eyecolor Collection

This post is about the Bare Minerals High Shine Eyecolor. As you can see from the picture of my collection above, I adore these! This is a relatively new product from Bare Minerals and one of their first deviations from the standard, loose mineral eyeshadows. I only bought one at first and loved it so much, I went out and bought the rest of the colors in the original line. Since then, they’ve debuted a few more colors this year and I bought one of those that I saw as one of my favorites. Bare minerals claims the following from their site….

“Get high-intensity sheen from the naturally vibrant pigments of bareMinerals High Shine Eyecolors. Free of preservatives and chemical irritants, the velvety-smooth, long-wearing formula glides on effortlessly for an extra creamy, opaque finish full of glistening, foiled effects. Plus the convenient, cushion-tip wand allows easy, on-the-go application anytime, anywhere.

Ophthalmologist-tested.
Safe for contact lens wearers.”

Does it live up to the claims? Continue reading to see…….

Wet N Wild Color Icon Trio in Silent Treatment Swatches and Mini Review

Wet N Wild Silent Treatment Packaging

Wet N Wild Color Icon Trio in ‘Silent Treatment’

I’m here today with one of my all time favorite color icon trios from Wet N Wild. I haven’t done a post on Wet N Wild eyeshadows up until this point but prepare now because I’m about to RAVE about these. I cannot say enough great things about Wet N Wild. I re-discovered them last year when I read about them in the beauty blogger community and on the youtube beauty community. I remembered Wet N Wild from high school and associated it with ‘cheap makeup’ both in price and quality. Boy was I wrong! Wet N Wild is very budget friendly (I think the color icon trios cost me 2.99 each) but they are extremely high quality! In my opinion, they make the absolute best drugstore eyeshadows and I don’t think my opinion will ever change on this. Do not be fooled by the low price tag! These eyeshadows are creamy, extremely pigmented, easy to blend, and come in a great variety of colors! I have just about every palette this company makes. Buying Wet N Wild is an easy way to get lots of colors in your library while not spending a lot of money. And seriously people, I compare the quality of these shadows to that of MAC and Urban Decay. Seriously – nothing bad to say about Wet N Wild or the shadows. In fact, I’m furiously trying to find the new Limited edition collection that was just released and won’t be satisfied till I have all the colors! Go get some wet n wild! Read on for more…..

Cover Girl Intense ShadowBlast Review and Swatches

CoverGirl Intense Shadow Blast

CoverGirl Intense Shadow Blast in (L->R) Beige Blaze, Platinum Pop, and Forever Pink

Another Cover Girl Review today! As I had mentioned in my review of their eyeshadows, covergirl, like other drugstore brands have really been stepping up lately improving their products and rolling out a lot of really great stuff. The best thing about Cover Girl is that it’s very easily accessible and it’s price tag is very reasonable. They’ve been in the drugstore game for a long time and, honestly, up until recently I was disappointed with many of their products. However, starting with the lashblasts (which have become a staple for many women in the mascara department), they have been producing very high quality products that I have been more than impressed with. The product I’m reviewing today is their Intense Shadow Blast, not to be confused with the cream stick shadow blast – these are totally different and sooooo much better.

MAC Surf Baby Swatches and Review

So, I am one of those people who is addicted to the new limited edition MAC releases. This was the collection I was most excited about this summer. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to the counter early in the collection, so many of the items I wanted were sold out. These sold out items were most notably, the eyeshadows. I will say that the MAC employees ALWAYS offer to call other counters for me and they did on this occasion also. I didn’t get my sold out stuff because I didn’t want to travel to the MAC that had the items in stock. But, that’s okay! I absolutely LOVE all my loot from this collection, and hopefully this post may help you decide if you want to go grab you some too.

So, First are the eyeshadows. They released two crushed metallic pigment stacks. Anyone who knows me also knows I have a weakness for pigment. Pigment makes for such bold colors that I can’t resist. I actually hit the counter wanting the ‘surf the ocean’ stack, but it was sold out. I checked out the other released stash, ‘summer stash’ and really liked it. Summer Stash has two lighter champagne-y type pigments, one deep brown, and the most beautiful purple eyeshadow I think I’ve ever seen! I cannot tell you how much I am loving these pigments right now! They are crushed pigments, so that means they are chunky and you crush them up with your brush before applying them.

Swatches are below and no primer was used.
