My Red Hair (excuse the lack of smile, but this picture shows the color very well)
I get quite a few questions regarding my hair. I decided that a blog post devoted to my hair could possibly be helpful to those of you out there who want to go red or are having trouble maintaining it. Red hair has quite a learning curve and it did take me more than one dye job to learn what works for me. I’ve been keeping this color for about two years now and I am never going back! Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette Outside Packaging
Oh, Naked palette, what a whirlwind you caused! This was one of tre top selling makeup items of 2011 period. The company couldn’t crank them out fast enough to meet demands. After replacing the eyeliner included in the palette with a brush, they were able to crank them out and meet customer demands. I got mine long before the craziness began. I saw this baby in my Ulta and said, “THAT is an awesome palette” and scooped it up. Weeks later, I was hearing about the demand for this palette and I was so happy I got mine when I did. Fast forward to now, they’ve just released the Naked 2 Palette and with the demand for Naked 1, everyone is trying to grab Naked 2 at breakneck speed. I will be getting Naked 2 for myself but I don’t know when…. 🙂 Read on for more pics and review….

NYC Kiss Gloss in ‘Blood Red’
Yes folks, the Halloween collections are hitting the stores in August! I’m not a big Halloween fan but I love the colors that come out with the collections because they’re dark, vampy, and mysterious. So, beauty-wise, Halloween is a great time of year for me. I snatched up two things from the NYC Halloween collection, this lipgloss and the false lashes. I’ll write about the falsies after I wear them. As far as New York Color as a brand is concerned, I’m very happy with it overall. It’s a very budget friendly line which can be off-putting for some, as they assume it’s bad quality. I can’t speak for the entire line as I can for say, Revlon, because I haven’t used the entire gamut of all they offer; however, some of the products are really awesome and it’s an added bonus that they don’t cost a lot. NYC’s translucent smooth skin loose powder is my holy grail setting powder. I also think their creme bronzer (limited edition – bronze radiance) and cream blushes are as good as prestige brands and I love those as well (and use them daily). Now…..on with the review……
Milani is another drugstore line that I am never diappointed with. I only discovered Milani recently though the Youtube beauty community and bloggers. Previously to that, I had never really paid much attention to the end cap of products at my CVS. I am so glad I discovered Milani because I have not used a single product in the line that I can say I regret buying. They have such beautiful colors and high quality products. It is a little pricier than other drugstore lines but totally worth every penny, if you ask me.
So, already loving milani’s blushes, I spotted a new display of baked blushes at my CVS. I picked up ‘Dolce Pink’ which is a beautiful baked blush. It is marbled multi tone pink with glitter. You guys know I love my glitter. I enjoy the texture and application of baked blushes as they don’t go on too heavy and are easy to work with. I am wearing this blush right now as I write this and I definately reccomend the line.
To the review….. First of all, the packaging-> I love this packaging. It’s the typical milani gold mirrored compact packaging. It’s sturdy and beautiful and like physicians formula, you get a brush in the under compartment of the blush (pictures below). I don’t use the brush as I apply this with a regular blush brush. However, It could be very good for touchups.
The quality of product -> The color payoff is great and the color shows up without too much work or without going on too heavy at first swipe. The texture of the product is smooth to touch. The color selection in the line is of moderate size – it could be bigger but not exactly small. I found a couple I wanted and decided to get this one. I love this blush for my cool toned skin but they also have a nice peach color for those with warmer tones.
The only bad thing I’ll say about this blush is the same for my physicians formula review. The packaging could be decieving as you think you’re getting a ton of product and find out that part of the compact is taken up by the brush. Now, this is not to say that you don’t get a lot of product; it’s just that you need to keep the brush in mind when buying.
Go get your pink sparkle on folks!
Outside packaging. You can see that the gold mirror is very reflective as you can see my camera and hands in the reflection.
