NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Plaza Pink
This is another one of my holy grail drugstore products I’m reviewing here. You will see that I have quite a few of the shades from New York Color’s blushable creme stick line as I love them so much. Firstly, let me say that I prefer a creme bronzer and a creme blush as opposed to powder forms. I feel they blend in better and look more natural while giving you a nice pigmentation. I’m going to go ahead and tell you that it is difficult to find a good drugstore creme blush or bronzer for that matter. New York Color has provided in that area and has exceeded my expectations. NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Pearl Glow
Ah, NYC, how I love thee! There are many core line products that I do adore but one of the awesome things about NYC is that they will put out limited edition displays all the time with new colors and new takes on existing products. This product is from the bronze bliss collection for summer 2011. When I saw it, I thought it looked like a great highlighter. In my experience, I don’t see a lot of great drugstore highlighters (physicians formula has some, however, those are the only ones I can think of at this time). Was this a hit with me? Read on…..
ELF Mineral Eyeshadows
ELF is another brand that I adore. Their products are so cheap and many are surprisingly great. But, at the price, you just can’t help but give them a whirl. I won’t say that I’ve like every product I bought from ELF (most notably, some of their lighter eyeshadows in the beauty books lack pigmentation). But, I would say overall, they have great things to offer. My favorite products from ELF are their brushes, their eye primers, and blushes. I picked up a set of three eyeshadows from their mineral line at my local target. I didn’t know what to expect from the shadows as my experience with ELF eyeshadows has been big hit or big miss. I was pleasantly surprised with these shadows. Read on…..
OPI Road House Blues Bottle
Another Fall polish for you! Can you tell that I’m ready for fall? This is from OPI’s Touring America Collection. I wasn’t super thrilled about any of these shades when I saw the promo photos but seeing them in person changed my mind. This shade, Road House Blues, was one of my favorites. I love my dark polishes and this is a dark blue creme that almost looks black on the nails, yet, one can tell that it isn’t pure black. I love it! Read on for more pics….
China Glaze Midtown Magic Bottle
This nail polish swatch is from the new Fall 2011 Metro Collection. I looked at the colors both online and in person before purchasing. I knew, from my research and from eyeing in person, that Midtown Magic was the shade that I needed! It’s a beautiful brown with a golden shimmer/glitter. It…..is…..beautiful! I don’t know if my pictures will pick up the true beauty of it, but I try. 🙂 The formula is fab just like all China Glaze. If you’re a fan of dark, vampy, polishes, I definitely recommend this one! Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Correcting Primer in Green
I am going to go ahead and tell you this is going to be another rave review. I much prefer reviewing products I like opposed to those I don’t. Well, let me say I got this product on a physician’s formula sale at Rite Aid and it was sort of a gamble for me. What I mean by this is that I’ve never used any color correcting primer before much less this particular one. I do have lots of redness in my face and thought that this could possibly help. Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Gel Liner in Hazel, Blue, and Green eyes.
Another Rave review for a Physician’s Formula product. This is for their gel liners. Here’s a quick rundown of why I love these:
1.) Price point is low 2.) You get three colors in one product 3.) they wear fabulously 4.) they glide on smoothly 5.) They have shimmer hidden inside
You may notice I have all the colors except for the one that goes with my brown eyes. Well, that’s not a problem. I buy makeup colors based on what I like and what I know looks good on me not by the label. I will say that all the colors I have complement my brown eyes though they are designed for other eye colors. What does this mean? Don’t feel constricted to buy your eye color’s set because of the label. Buy what you want! Read on for the review…..
OPI I’m Not Really A Waitress
I can’t believe it took me this long to get the most popular color that OPI makes! The bottle you see above is that color – I’m Not Really A Waitress. I thought the story behind this was interesting. Suzi, the executive VP at OPI named this color after noticing that everyone in Los Angeles had another job besides the one they worked. The example here is a waitress that’s ‘not really a waitress’ because she’s an actress. Cool, right? Well, for the swatch, keep reading….
Milani Infinite Liner in Eternal and Endless
I’m here today with a review of Milani infinite liquid liner. According to the product and Milani, these eyeliners wear for 24 hours. I am going to go ahead and tell you that this is a RAVE review. These DO last for 24 hours – they are not joking! Read on for the review and swatches……
NYC Kiss Gloss in ‘Blood Red’
Yes folks, the Halloween collections are hitting the stores in August! I’m not a big Halloween fan but I love the colors that come out with the collections because they’re dark, vampy, and mysterious. So, beauty-wise, Halloween is a great time of year for me. I snatched up two things from the NYC Halloween collection, this lipgloss and the false lashes. I’ll write about the falsies after I wear them. As far as New York Color as a brand is concerned, I’m very happy with it overall. It’s a very budget friendly line which can be off-putting for some, as they assume it’s bad quality. I can’t speak for the entire line as I can for say, Revlon, because I haven’t used the entire gamut of all they offer; however, some of the products are really awesome and it’s an added bonus that they don’t cost a lot. NYC’s translucent smooth skin loose powder is my holy grail setting powder. I also think their creme bronzer (limited edition – bronze radiance) and cream blushes are as good as prestige brands and I love those as well (and use them daily). Now…..on with the review……
